Nattokinase is an enzyme extracted from a Japanese food called Natto. An enzyme is a natural catalyst that catalyzes chemical reactions in body. The Natto food is produced by fermentation by adding the bacterium Bacillus natto to boiled soybeans, when the bacterium act on soybeans Nattokinase is produced. It is used in alternative medicine as a blood thinner and as an alternative to daily aspirin therapy. It is believed to be beneficial for patients with cardiac problems because a research conducted by Dr. Hiroyuki Sumi in 1980 discovered that it has the ability to dissolve blood clots. It also improves the overall blood circulation because of its blood thinning properties.
