L-Citrulline is an organic compound and is an alpha amino acid. It is also a non-essential amino acid meaning it is synthesized within the human body itself. L-Citrulline is a primary element in the urea cycle which is the process by which mammals excrete ammonia. This is done in the mitochondria of cells where ammonia combines with carbon dioxide and ornithine to form citrulline. Rutacarpine is found in plants of Evodia rutaecarpa or Tetradium rutaecarpa, which have been used for centuries in the traditional Chinese Medicine. Vanadyl Sulfate, while nutritionally not deemed necessary, is a very common component of food supplements and body building products. This inorganic compound is believed to mimic to some extent the effects of insulin, which, among other things, controls the uptake of glucose and apparently vanadyl sulfate would thereby promote better energy delivery to the muscles.
